FOGS - Friends of Gisburn School, is an extremely successful committee, which provides fun activities, opportunities and equipment for all the children at Gisburn School; a termly extra curricular activity day for the whole school (dance workshops, author visit, science workshops,  music workshops)  &  team sports wear, play equipment, science equipment etc. We would like to encourage all parents to attend any of the meetings, which are  very sociable and a great way of getting to know other parents.

If there is anything you would like to know about FOGS or questions you would like to ask, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Our Next Challenge!

We are just embarked on our next fundraising challenge and it’s a BIG ONE!!!!

As our school gets bigger, space is at a premium. Expanding the current school building is not an option and that’s where we come in. School have asked us to fund raise towards buying a wooden outdoor classroom to be used by all the pupils. We are currently obtaining quotes and looking at the various options. At a rough estimate we will need to raise £12,000! A huge amount of money!!!! FOGs feel that it can be done with the support of parents & teachers...

Our initial fundraising was a 'Quiz, Cheese, Wine and Auction Night' which was held in the school hall in October. At the beginning of December we held our annual Christmas Fair and  'Bags 2 School' have collected unwanted clothing/bedding etc. We are also selling Gisburn School Eco Bags for Life and at Christmas we organised a 'Secret Christmas Gift Room'  where the children could buy a surprise gift for their special grown-ups!

On Friday, 31st March we held an Easter Egg hunt at 2pm. There were drinks, cakes, a raffle, lucky dip, tombola, hook a duck and crafts! Everyone had so much fun!
